Cloudfeather flew toward the lake in search of herbs. After taking inventory, she discovered that Graytail had done a thorough job of stocking up. There wasn't much she needed but the flight was doing her good. The wind rushed through her wings and the ground flew by and her heart started to lighten just the slightest bit. Seeing a small clump of moss on a near by tree, she veered to the south to collect it. Maybe I'll just get the moss and then take the long rout home.

As she gathered the moss, Cloudfeather felt the wind turn suddenly colder. The wind kicked up and the clouds covered the sky. Great. she thought to herself. I didn't see this coming. She quickly took what she could get and then headed home. I hope everyone is in their nests. she thought as she flew through the rain. The closer she got home, the stronger the storm became. The wind was throwing her off course and she struggled to see through the driving rain. Thunder pounded her ears and lightening threatened to strike. Relief flooded through her when she saw her nest. Thank goodness! She stored her herbs and settled down to ride out the storm.
