Goldenfeather awoke early. The sunlight barley penatrated the cave's darkness, making the cave seem dim and draped in shadow. She stretched her wings and slow stood. She walked to the cave's entrance and took flight. She flew around camp a few times, letting the rushing wind finish waking her. The air filtered through her feathers, cooling her body and making her blood rush through her body. She finally was awake and landed. She thought about what she should do first today. The fresh kill pile needed replenished and they needed a patrol party. She thought for a few minutes before finding a solution. She ask Barkfeather to go on patrol with her and after they'd finished, they could hunt for a while before returning. Having made up her mind, she took flight again, searching for him.

Spiritwind was at her cave entrance when she saw her deputy, Goldenfeather, take flight; so she rose in the air with the beat of her wings and flew beside her. "Good Morning, gathering a hunting party this early?" she said with amusement, "I believe I'll join you today. My muscles need stretching."

Goldenfeather nodded. "I was just going to find Barkfeather. I thought'd we'd do a patrol and then hunt on the way back. That way, everthing gets done" As she finished, Barkfeather came into view. He was flying in their direction. "Oy, Barkfeather," Goldenfeather called.
Barkfeather heard his name. He looked to see Spiritwind and Goldenfeather heading his way. "Goodmorning! Out so early?"
Goldenfeather smiled. She wondered what he was upto, so early in the morning. "We were going out on patrol, and then hunting on the way home. Would you come with us?"
Barkfeather thought for a moment, he'd been quite bord lately and this seemed like the perfect solution. "Sure. That sounds like more fun than hanging out and doing nothing." He fell into line with them. Goldenfeather switched direction and headed out of camp.
